Sponsor a child in the Kiwanis Shining Bright Literacy Program!

Help a child be ready for school. $33.33 sponsors an at-risk child to receive a book each month during the school year and literacy tools and idea for the family.

The Kiwanis Shining Bright Literacy Program provides 300 at-risk preschoolers with age-appropriate books each month from September through May and the family receives literacy tools and ideas.

Please go to the “Click to Donate” button to invest $33.33 in the Shining Bright Literacy Program. All Foundation donors contributing to literacy and access will be entered in a drawing for a $300 Amazon gift card. Winner will be chosen at random from all donors at the Beatles Barbeque!)

 

Aid a homebound neighbor. $85 sponsors a homebound resident to have access to library materials. Please click here.

Your support provides the means to take library resources to people who cannot come to the library on their own. As homebound resident recently said that this service “literally keeps her alive and interested in life.”

Richard Santori passed away in 2010. He was the owner of auto dealerships in and around Aurora.

Gina Santori is a physician and surgeon who is on staff at Rush-Copley Medical Center. She now practices only on a pro bono basis caring for diabetic and renal patients.

“My husband, a self-taught man, was never afforded the education that he held so dear,” Dr. Santori said. “He studied each morning with the reading of encyclopedias to act as his curriculum. It served him well in his life and he mentored others with his generosity of knowledge and time.”

A set of his encyclopedias is on display in the Santori Library Atrium near the stairwell.
