For your $33.33 donation, a child will receive a book a month for the entire school year.
The Kiwanis Shining Bright Literacy Program will provide 300 preschoolers with age-appropriate books each month from September 2016 through May 2017. Students will be identified through developmental screenings conducted through SPARK (Strong, Prepared And Ready for Kindergarten). Participants will receive a Shining Bright Library Card and will be rewarded for engaging in literacy activities like storytimes, AWE technology learning, interactive play and reading. Parent education and technology tools designed to impact early literacy also will be provided, and caregivers will receive literacy skills from experts and each other in Parent Cafes.
